This week was the realisation that TA is broken and I will create an article on why I think this is. But the good news is I spoke to a bunch of people are breaking that mould and creating amazing things!
This week after a short break, to be honest I was content creating out of inspiration and didn’t want to post for the sake of it, the podcast is back after 2 week pause!

Define the "Why" for Every Project:
Always start by understanding and defining the purpose behind any project or initiative. This ensures that the efforts are aligned with the overall goals and prevents the team from getting sidetracked by less important tasks or shiny new tools that do not serve the core objective.
Balance Data with Human Insights:
Utilize data to back up decisions, but don't ignore the gut feelings and insights from experienced team members. This balanced approach ensures that decisions are both data-driven and contextually relevant, leading to more effective and practical outcomes.
Embrace Structured Interviews and Continuous Improvement:
Implement structured interviews as a scientifically validated method to improve hiring outcomes. Regularly review and refine these processes based on feedback and results to ensure they remain effective and aligned with the evolving needs of the organization. This approach helps maintain a high standard in recruitment practices and contributes to better hiring decisions.

This week’s Top Tip:
Go and network, internally and externally, my challenge to you is to go and speak to someone about a topic in their domain and see how it affects TA. Go and speak to your CFO and understand how they see the function of TA. SPeak to your product team about managing your TA Roadmap.
And on LinkedIn find 5 people that have more experience than you or are in a job that you would like to have and ask for 30 mins to get some advice on how they got there!
What I Learned and Did This Week:
I discovered that sometimes LinkedIn is rubbish as a tool for sourcing. Instead for the project I am working on I took a Cord subscription, contacted 30 people, GOt 11 Discovery Interviews booked, and now have 5 people at the technical test stage after speaking with the CTO. All within a week of using the platform! So sometimes you just have to pay for the other tool.
Vicki Saunders I learned so much about Employer Brand and EVP, as we went off script during our Podcast.
Cathy Jacquot had a blast recording her episode where we discuss the importance of TA's and HR teams understanding mums and parents generally returning to the workplace.
Léo Bernard 🦊 It was a pleasure to finally put a real person to the LinkedIn personality I see every day! So much good stuff discussed in 30 mins!
David Doğan-Webb and I did a knowledge exchange on our project ideas! And I can't tell you how refreshing it was to talk to such a science-led, smart TA expert. An absolute pleasure! 👀 You should keep an eye on what he is working on
