📞 This week I was lucky to speak to many many people ! And I am taking my own advice which is always improving what I’m doing and for me this means documenting everyone I spoke to and keeping up to date with what they are working on and so I can keep on top of my networking properly. Generally Im pretty good at staying in touch with people but if I have transcripts from all of these calls - imagine how powerful that could be in time to come!
I am implying using a Notion and documenting who when, basic notes, link to the transcript, and what type of call, for example, mentoring, sales, networking etc etc . Basically my own person CRM so I don’t forget who and when I spoke to people.
This week’s top tip
We all know about social media anxiety the perceived reality v the reality. The feeling that everyone is outperforming and or enjoying more than you etc. And that is starting to creep into professional life.
Due to AI LinkedIn is now flooded with how to do x or y as access to the information in a structured way is very easy now. Which may make you feel like “How the hell do they manage to do this”, “I can barely breathe at work”. But the reality is these so-called influencers are not doing this.
Examples or skills-based hiring, quality of hire, data-driven decisions., and integrated TA tach stacks to name but a few.
One tip would be to stop following these people and instead start to look for more high-quality content from micro-influencers who you can engage and learn, challenge and grow.
And finally, I was listening to an interview with Novak Djokovic and he said the number one thing he would recommend for stress management is active breathing.
That may sound crazy but this is backed up by science. I won’t bore you or pretend I know what Im talking about but if you have 15 mins give this a try. It’s remarkably good!
So my top tip is Do not worry about what you are reading on LinkedIn and if you are finding yourself overwhelmed at work or generally try this exercise once!
What I Learned and Did This Week
If you have time read or listen to this
https://hbr.org/2024/09/where-data-driven-decision-making-can-go-wrong
Efetivley what is says that we really are in a data driven business world, people in charge generally fall into the trap of either blindly accepting data or dismissing it entirely. When people do this it missed the chance and deep, thoughtful, challenging discussion to assess the relevance and applicability of evidence to specific situations.
What is suggests is that leaders have to move on from blindly accepting or rejecting data. They should be curious about the details and constantly strive for context and what is missing. Finally, he suggests that psychological safety and encouraging diverse perspectives is how teams can better weigh the evidence and make informed decisions, improving their overall outcomes!
And that’s me back at it and here every Friday from now on. If you like what I’m posting please share or contact me, Im always open to a chat

Yes, it's me, I am Jean-WorkMeTender 😂
Thanks for that, I had a good laugh.
Joke apart, great newsletter, lots of insightful tips as usual.
People posting fake things on Linkedin is a plague. Especially all those trying to sell you systems that clearly don't work and that they don't use themselves.
Example: "Do you want to know how I got 100.000 clients in just 3 months, thanks to my secret method? Click here to know."
Well buddy, if you had gotten 100.000 paying customers in 3 months, you might have something more important to do than trying to scam me.
Keep up the good work!
